NASD Rule 3510 requires securities firms to create, review and maintain an up-to-date written business continuity plan (BCP). Recognizing that not all firms have a secure, off-site facility to store and update their BCP, NASD has arranged for EVault, a leading provider of network backup and recovery software and services for securities firms, to provide this automated electronic repository service specifically designed for NASD firms.

OurEVault is an electronic workspace where teams can collaborate on business continuity plans in a secure, online data environment. This service is ideal for financially regulated organizations that depend on a disaster recovery plan to meet compliance requirements.

Key features and benefits:

  • Remote access – upload, download and modify documents from anywhere with an Internet connection
  • Collaboration – smooth document collaboration across authorized users
  • Security – over-the-wire encryption of all uploaded and downloaded documents
  • Varied authorization levels – different access controls may be granted to individual users in the same account

Firms also have the option of allowing NASD staff to access critical business continuity materials in times of business disruption. Firms electing this option will have two folders in their vault – one for NASD access and one that is private and only accessible by the firm.
